After I moved to Alabama from Texas, everything started to fall into place in a way I never expected. As I was moving into a new apartment, Blake noticed me and later told me his first thought was, “Who is that girl?”

For our first date, Blake suggested Rojo - a bold choice, considering I’m from Texas and very opinionated about my Mexican food. Somewhere between a full pitcher of margarita, and a five hour date, something just clicked.

From that night on, we were inseparable. We went everywhere together - beach trips, concerts, trips back to Texas, and just doing everyday life side by side. We quickly realized we shared the same love for music, especially Steely Dan, and even more importantly, we became best friends. We also found a shared love for cooking- usually with music playing and a glass of wine in hand.

We’ve both lost our dads, and over time, we’ve come to believe that somehow, they had a hand in bringing us together- which makes everything feel even more meaningful.

Not long after we started dating, we took a trip to San Miguel, and that’s where we truly fell in love. It became a place that means so much to us, and we’ve gone back every year since.

On our most recent trip, in a park in the city that holds so much of our story, Blake asked me to marry him - it was the easiest yes ever.

Now, we’re so excited to be getting married in the very place where it all came together- and to celebrate with all of our favorite people.
